TEHRAN (FNA)- Authentic documents show that Saudi Arabia is spending its petrodollars in spreading ISIL Takfirism in the region, a senior Iranian legislator revealed on Wednesday.
"Given the Saudi moves and attempts as well as the existing documents, Riyadh is trying to use its money to spread the Wahhabi thoughts in the region whose extreme form manifests in ISIL's thoughts," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Baqer Hosseini said in an interview with Iran-based Didehban strategic institute on Wednesday.
He cautioned that ISIL's moves and actions threaten the Muslims, the Middle-Eastern people and the entire human society, and called for blocking the terrorist group's activities.
Hosseini expressed regret that Wahhabi thoughts have created rift among Muslims.
In relevant remarks in June, a senior Kuwaiti legislator blasted Saudi Arabia for financing and supporting the terrorist and extremist groups, and said the terrorist attacks carried out in different Persian Gulf Arab littoral states were the consequences of Riyadh's mischief.
"Saudi Arabia and Qatar have created many dangers for the region through their support for terrorism," Abdulhamid Dashti told FNA.
"The financial, arms and media support for the Takfiri militias increases their danger for the Arab region, specially in the Persian Gulf," he added.
