UN WARNS OVER 80% OF YEMENI NEED HUMANITARIAN AID

Almost 21 million people, or 80 percent of Yemen’s population, require humanitarian aid amid the military conflict, said communications officer with the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR), Mohammed Abu.

The Saudi war, which is continuing for the sixth month, has affected some 1.8 million people in Yemen and neighboring countries, including refugees and internally displaced people, according to the agency, RIA Novosti reported.

The blockade imposed by the Saudi-led coalition has hindered the import of food and fuel, leaving Yemeni residents requiring food, medical aid and clean Drinking Water.
