Senior Ahrar Al-Sham Commander Killed in Russia Airstrike in Syria
Chechen-born Abu Bakr al-Shishani, the top commander of Ahrar al-Sham terrorist group in Homs province was killed in a Russian airstrike in Syria.
The Russian fighter jets killed dozens of Takfiri terrorists, including the Emir (top commander) of Ahrar al Sham terrorist group in Homs, Abu Bakr al-Shishani, on Wednesday.
Syrian military sources told Sputnik on Thursday that al-Shishani was reportedly killed by a Russian airstrike in Homs province in Syria.
“On October 14, a Russian airstrike, carried out in the Homs province, destroyed a group of militants along with Chechen-born Abu Bakr al-Shishani, leader of the Ahrar Al-Sham terrorist group,” the source said.
The Syrian army also killed two other top commanders of the Takfiri terrorist group, including head of the militants' operations room, in Homs on Thursday.
The terrorist commander, Rawad al-Aksah, was killed in Teir Ma'la in Homs countryside. Al-Aksah was in charge of Homs operations room, and also led the terrorists in Teir Ma'la.
Reports from Homs said that another top terrorist leader, Amer Moussa Shiblout, has also been identified among the dead.
The Syrian armed forces conducted massive military operations in the Northern and Northeastern countryside of Homs province on Thursday.
Early battlefield reports indicated large casualties among the militants. Reports on Thursday evening said the Syrian army, backed up by the Russian warplanes, still continues marching on militant-held regions.
Meanwhile, the Syrian forces retook full control over Khalidiya village in Homs, killing a number of terrorists and destroying their weapons.
On Wednesday, leader and deputy leader of a main anti-government militant group in Syria's Homs province were killed along with several other notorious terrorists in a Syrian Army ambush operation.
The army ambushed the terrorist group near al-Samalil village in Southern al-Houleh in the Northern countryside of Homs, killing at least 7 members of the terrorist group, most of them among the most notorious and most wanted terrorists.
The group’s leader, Ammar al-Khodr, and the notorious Chechen terrorist, Abo Anas, were identified among the dead.
The "Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement" also acknowledged the death of the seven terrorists, and said Ammar al-Khodr, who was confirmed dead, was the chief of Ahrar al-Sham Islamic Movement in al-Houleh.
His deputy and the Movement’s military commander in Homs, Abdullah Barakat, was also among the dead, according to the terrorist group; FNA reported.
