Body of former Iranian ambassador to Beirut Ghazanfar Roknabadi is due to be transferred to Iran on Friday through Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport.
Roknabadi went missing during the deadly Hajj stampede in Mina near Mecca on September 24 where 462 Iranian pilgrims were killed due to mismanagement of Saudi officials.
His body was recently identified.
Roknabadi’s funeral procession will be held after Tehran Friday prayers and his body will be laid to rest.
He was born in Qom in 1966 and served as Iran’s ambassador to Lebanon from 2010 to 2014; IRNA reported.
