TEHRAN (FNA)- Iraq's Intelligence Service in the Shiite city of Karbala disbanded a gang who intended to transfer money to the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group.
"Our forces managed to arrest a group of suspects who intended to transfer huge amounts of money to an ISIL account," Karbala Intelligence Department reported.
The Iraqi Intelligence Department did not provide further details about the disbanded group.
In August, the Iraqi security sources said that the country's police and intelligence forces identified and captured nine terrorists of the ISIL group, and seized two explosive-laden cars in Karbala province.
“The Iraqi intelligence forces alongside Karbala anti-terrorism units identified and arrested nine elements of the ISIL Takfiri terrorist group and seized their two bomb-laden cars in Ain al-Tamur district (80 km West of Karbala),” the security sources said.
The ISIL Takfiri terrorists currently control shrinking swathes of Syria and Iraq. They have threatened all communities, including Shiites, Sunnis, Kurds, Christians, Ezadi Kurds and others, as they continue their atrocities in Iraq.
Senior Iraqi officials have blamed Saudi Arabia, Qatar, and some Persian Gulf Arab states for the growing terrorism in their country.
The ISIL has links with Saudi intelligence and is believed to be indirectly supported by the Israeli regime.
