SYRIAN AIR RAIDS KILL SCORES OF ISIL TERRORISTS.

TEHRAN (FNA)- Syrian airstrikes targeted positions of the ISIL Takfiri militants in the Central province of Homs, killing 38 terrorists.

Syrian warplanes bombed ISIL positions in the ancient city of Palmyra, located 215 kilometers (133 miles) Northeast of the capital, Damascus, and two other towns late on Monday, according to the so-called Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Palmyra, is on the list of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO)’s World Heritage Sites.

On Friday, informed sources said that at least 15 militants were killed and several others injured in the Syrian Air Force's operations against positions of the ISIL Takfiri terrorists in the nearby areas of the ancient city of Palmyra.

The Palmyra airstrikes come a day after the Syrian air force carried out heavy raids in the Northern city of Raqqa, also held by the ISIL.

In one of the heaviest bombardment since the extremist group seized the ancient town May 10, the Syrian fighter jets carried out at least 30 air raids on Palmyra Friday.

The source added that at least 15 militants were killed and more than 120 wounded in the Syrian warplanes' operations.

Palmyra’s only hospital was suffering severe shortages in staff and equipment, and some of the wounded had to be taken to Raqqa, more than 200 kilometers (125 miles) away.

Earlier this month, the Syrian Armed Forces killed at least 43 ISIL militants in Palmyra and its countryside, a military source said
